East Delhi
Yamuna river in Delhi divides the city into two parts. The part of
Delhi that falls on the eastern side of the river is often referred
as East Delhi. This region is better known as the trans Yamuna area
and comprises of regions like Preet Vihar, Mayur Vihar, Gandhi
Nagar, Vivek Vihar and Shahadara.
Most of the old residential colonies here are closely packed with
narrow busy lanes. After the consistent efforts of State Government,
there are now better roads and well established residential areas.
Now it is no less than other posh colonies of Delhi situated on the
other side of the river.
The newly developed regions here holds residential and commercial
value. Eastern part of Delhi offers comfortable stay as well as good
restaurants which make the place a lot more comfortable. It is
bounded by the Uttar Pradesh border comprising of Noida and
Ghaziabad.
The area used to be popular for its clumsy look and overshadowed
buildings But slowly and steadily, this region is growing. This
region encompass few malls and temples that have great importance
for Delhi tourism industry.
